Mind Body Tips….

Staff News & Education

Martz, Nikki and Anna all officially jumped on the APMA bandwagon. The APMA (Australian Pilates Method Association) was established in 1995 as a not for profit organisation driven to share the profound results the Pilates Method has to offer. Its members are passionate about Pilates, its intelligent methodology and systematic approach to dealing with pain and strength training.

The APMA makes a major contribution to the Pilates education and training curriculum and is a keen and active proponent of professional ethics and standards.

The exciting thing about this for our clients is that the girls now have provider numbers which means that in 2015 you will be able to rebate your Pilates sessions subject to your private health policy offerings.

Lynsey achieved accreditation an ‘exercise scientist’ with ESSA governing body. ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia) is the peak professional organisation committed to establishing, promoting and representing the career paths of tertiary-trained exercise and sports science practitioners.

Next step is the ‘exercise physiologist’ benchmark in 2015. Achieving this accreditation is no mean feat, not only does it require extended university education; it is most definitely a process of persistence and practical experience. Well done Lynsey and a big thanks for your ongoing commitment to the best training practices for your clients!

Nikki & Martz returned from Bali workshops with Madeline Black armed with the most up to date scientific approaches to addressing structure & function in the Pilates paradigm… as well as some pretty great tans!

Workshop topics included;
– ‘Sacrum in motion’
– ‘Ease the knees’
– ‘The supple neck’

Yvette attended Props Explosion and Pre-Natal Pilates workshops at Breathe Education. These innovative and creative workshops have no doubt armed Yvette with some new creative and exciting uses for the Unified space and equipment. We’re looking forward to seeing how Yvette applies her new skills with her trademark keen eye and attention to detail.
